• Sage 50 was struggling a little bit with the size of their data
• Sage 50 was struggling with speed when all users (6) were logged on.
• Although already using 50 manufacturing, ACT! And Payroll, integration was limited and when upgrades were released they sometimes corrupted other parts of the suite.

Their Director knew that the software would cope for another couple of years but also realised that as the business grew they would need more and more bespoke solutions. He was also keen to find a higher level of integration across the systems, particularly linking CRM to the web.

From a business perspective it made sense to get the infrastructure in place now so they were prepared for future growth rather than wait until their existing system went ‘beyond bursting point’.

They contacted a few different software companies and found it was like ‘running the gauntlet of pressure salesmen and bulls..t’. When they spoke to us they were impressed to find Sage ‘experts’ who ‘listened’ to what was needed and provided answers as opposed to just trying to sell the ‘quickest or most expensive solution regardless of whether it would work.

Coming along to our annual ‘Customer Day’ enabled them to meet the team they would be working with which supported their initial impression that Solutions were the ‘right people to go with’. Customer Day also gave them an opportunity to gain an insight into future Sage developments and 3^rd party software companies.

Result: The company installed Sage 200 software incorporating the Financials and Manufacturing and CRM. They also use Spindle- Sage add-on software to assist with document distribution.

Purchase order authorisation, a feature which lets you set permissions for authorisation which can be set at different levels to keep your workflow moving.

A new Report Designer which is easy to use and more intuitive and if you are upgrading from Sage 50 will be familiar to you.

The ability to amend the Exchange Rate at invoice point in Sage 200v2010 is really usefulm whilst the ability to run stock reports retrospectively, including late entries can simplify reconciliation between stock control and nominal ledger.

The ability to access your Sage 200 data from your Blackberry is great for sales teams tracking customer actions and the Sage CRM ’s ability to store comprehensive contact information makes life on the road that much easier.

Customer Day 2010

The Solutions for Accounting team spent Wednesday at Kelham Hall near Newark, greeting visitors who were attending our ‘Customer Day’ .

The day was a mix of seminars, eleven in total, with presentations ranging from ‘Improving your Warehouse Management’ to ‘Automating your Business Systems’. Representatives from Sage and Solutions presented product updates on Sage 50, Sage 200, Sage Construction, Sage Manufacturing, Sage CRM (customer relationship management) software and Sage Retail, and a great mix of exhibitors completed the picture.

The aim of the day is to give businesses, many already customers, an opportunity to learn about software solutions which integrate with Sage to provide more streamlined business processes. As companies look to grow, implementing effective accounting and business management systems can be the best strategy for retaining control of costs, avoiding duplication and enabling more analysis of key functions to maintain efficiency.

‘Customer Day’ gives us an opportunity to introduce key products supplied by Solutions for Accounting and some key suppliers. We can talk to visitors in a relaxed, informal environment away from the distractions of the daily demands of  the office.
