Iain Barker

Managing Director

Iain established Solutions for Accounting in January 1998 as a Chartered Accountant with an interest in IT.

As well as the day-to-day running of Solutions, his role includes creating new marketing ideas and opportunities to adapt the business to the ever changing world of IT. Iain always enjoys a challenge and with IT changing continuously he is never short of new things to do and learn.

When not at work Iain enjoys spending time with his wife, Joanne, and two children. He also enjoys playing the piano, seeing West End Musicals, traveling and the countryside. Iain is also a fan of the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey team and goes to as many home games as possible.

Mark Hearne

Technical Director

Mark joined Solutions in 1998. In his second week at Solutions, Mark was sent to Newcastle to learn Line 100. Since then, he has spent his time developing and growing our Sage Line 100/MMS and Sage 200 client base, gaining substantial knowledge in both products. Mark was promoted to Director in September 2002.

Mark is now the Solutions Technical Director and manages our Development team.

Sean Graham

Operations Director

After leaving University Sean joined an accountancy practice and took his ACCA exams. In 2002 Sean left professional accountancy to set up his own company and start training in accounting related products. After working closely with Solutions for Accounting for 6 months he joined the team in 2002 and his role has since involved implementing and training in Sage 50, Sage 50 Manufacturing and the ACT! range.

As Operations Director of Solutions, Sean now concentrates on managing clients projects. Sean is a specialist in the larger Sage 200 Suite of products including Sage 200 Manufacturing.

It’s fortunate that Sean enjoys his work so much; as a keen Everton fan, most Saturdays between August and May are tinged with disappointment!

Will Ingleby

Sales Director

Will has been a CRM evangelist in the UK since 2001, working with SageCRM, Act! and other customer intelligence systems.

Today, Solutions is one of the world’s largest Act! CRM practitioners, a leading provider of SageCRM and a developing Salesforce partner. Will’s focus is upon strengthening the company’s CRM propositions to assist clients in managing customer relationships more effectively. 

With a wife and two sons, spare time is in short supply but Will serves as Chair of Governors in a Secondary School, is training to be a private pilot and is also the current National Round Table Sword-fighting Champion. His most recent challenge has been gaining his pilots licence (is there anything he can’t do?)

Joanne joined the Solutions team in June 2004 on a temporary basis to provide maternity cover from this date she hasn’t looked back!  Joanne was a qualified Solicitor with an Accountancy background too, having started as a graduate studying Accountancy. Joanne’s role in Solutions involves accounts and general administration duties.

Amanda joined Solutions in June 2006 to take on the role of Sales & Marketing Administrator.  Amanda now heads up our administration team.

Prior to working at Solutions, Amanda was a manager at HSBC Bank for 23 years.

In her own time Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and is a regular spectator at her sons athletics competitions.

Jess joined Solutions for Accounting as Assistant Administration In August 2014.  She works along side the Accounts and Admin team developing crucial skills in the busy admin side of the business.

She joined having completed her AS Levels in Applied Science History.

In her spare time she enjoys Shopping and Country walks and would like to travel.

Michelle joined the business as an HR Consultant for both Solutions for Accounting and Page Kirk in May 2016. She works with the team to seek out ways to implement best HR practice, while providing ongoing support and guidance to all.

In her spare time Michelle enjoys arts and crafts, spending time with her children and the occasional bit of weeding in the garden.

Hollie Joined Solutions in May 2017 as a junior Accounts Administrator. She works alongside the Accounts and Admin team developing business crucial skills.

Hollie joined us from a local college having studied Public Health. 

In her spare time Hollie is an adult volunteer for the Army Cadet Force.

Michael joined the Solutions for Accounting team in May 2006. Michael comes from an accounts-orientated background and has various qualifications at AAT level. He is also mid-way through the CIMA modules, which he is hoping to complete in the near future.

In previous employment, along with other accounts duties, Michael has been responsible for the management of IT systems, providing a first line of support to user communities.

Michael’s role within Solutions is to manage the delivery of effective customer support for predominantly Sage 200/Sage MMS/Line 100, Sage Construct and Sage Line 50 Manufacturing clients.

In his spare time Michael likes outdoor activities and attempting to stay fit by regular visits to the gym.

Alison Arnold

CRM Technical Specialist

Alison provides low-level technical support, focusing largely on Sage CRM products and data reporting tools.

As a Sage CRM and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Alison’s a hardcore techie. She enjoys taking PCs apart, installing and configuring software and developing her own code.

Alison’s day-to-day role involves providing support to the Solutions for Accounting Sage CRM client community and configuring SageCRM systems for new customers.

Alison is also ACT! Accredited and has the ability to customise and support complex ACT! systems.

When Alison isn’t working with computer systems she enjoys getting out into the country side on two wheels (both pedal power and motorised) and she has a keen interest in wildlife.

Brian McLellan

Support Consultant

Brian McLellan is a household name in the Sage arena having been co-founder and director of McLellan Software Design Ltd. Brian is a qualified Chartered Accountant and supports the Solutions for Accounting customer base of Sage Line 100, Sage MMS, Sage 200 and Sage Construct customers.

In his spare time Brian enjoys cruise holidays as well as growing lilies and runner beans and eating Toblerone!

Barry joined Solutions in September 2006 as a Trainee Internal IT Technician after four years at college studying Music Technology, Electronics and English Language.

Barry’s role has developed significantly since this time. He is now responsible for managing our internal IT systems, networks and the technology framework that supports our growing business.

Gregor joined our expanding support team in the Spring 2011. He primarily supports Sage 50 and Sage 200 alongside Spindle, Credit Hound and Sage 50 Manufacturing. He also writes reports and layouts for Sage 50.

In his spare time you’ll mostly find Gregor in front of his PC playing video games.

Steven joined Solutions for Accounting in March 2014 after completing his Accountancy and ICT course at College.

Steven Joined as an apprentice and is keen to be working in an environment where he can put his skills into practice.

In his spare time Steven enjoys socialising with friends and playing video games, and would love to travel in the future.

Joe started working for BluebirdCRM back in 2013 and joined the Solutions family in April 2015. Joe is an Apprentice Support Technician and has completed both his Level 3 and Level 4 Diplomas for IT Systems and Principles.

Joe primarily works supporting Act! however, in addition, he has recently started branching into Sage CRM support.

In his spare time Joe enjoys cycling, running and both playing and watching football.

Gavin joined Solutions for Accounting in November 2014 in an apprentice Support Technician role, where he will work closely alongside the support team learning Sage 50 and Sage 200.

Sam started working for BluebirdCRM in 2010 and joined the Solutions team in April 2015 along with the rest of his colleagues.

Sam supports both Act! and CRM.

Will Joined the Solutions team in July 2016 as an Apprentice Support Technician. He recently finished his A Levels having studied Engineering, Business Studies and ICT and is now looking forward to learning on the job. He will be working alongside the support team, supporting our large base of Sage 200 clients.

Jody Joined the Solutions team in July 2016 as Customer Services Coordinator. Her role involves making regular contact with all of our customers to check that they are happy with the service they are receiving, and whether they need assistance. This is a new role in Solutions so we are excited for Jody to get stuck in and ensure our customers are happy. We pride ourselves in giving our customers the best service possible.

Prior to working for Solutions, Jody was Head Receptionist for Partner Company, Page Kirk, based in the same building as Solutions.

In her spare time Jody enjoys reading, going for walks, attending festivals and spending time with her friends and family.

Andrea joined Solutions in November 2016 as Support Desk Coordinator. Her role involves being the first port of call for all support enquiries and ensuring they get dealt with by the correct member of the team.

Prior to Solutions, Andrea was the Assistant Manager for a Wholesale company supplying florists in Nottingham.

Having 5 children and 1 grandchild on the way, Andrea has very little ‘spare time’, but in the limited time she gets to herself she enjoys Zumba and going to gigs.

David joined Solutions in September 2016 in the Support team as a Support Technician, helping out with daily enquiries.

Prior to Solutions David attended a local school studying Physics, Chemistry, RE and Computing.

In his spare time David enjoys tinkering with computers, history, video games and travelling around Europe.

Takunda Mushambi

Takunda (known as T) joined the Solutions team in July 2017 after completing his A-levels at Trinity School. He has previous experience in being a construction labourer, trainee gym instructor and a party host.

T is now our Apprentice Support Technician and will be on the front line helping our customers with over the phone support with our various products.

T has a passion for sports but particularly football and loves spending time with family and friends, preferably with a cold beer and good music.

Lee joined the Solutions team in July 2017 after previously working as a web designer. He also studied for a digital marketer’s course and completed a level-3 software development course.

Lee is now our new trainee IT Technician and keeps the business running smoothly by fixing any problems we may have with our internal computer or network systems.

In his spare time Lee enjoys spending time with friends of which includes running and Airsoft.

Prior to Solutions, George attended a local school and is now looking forward to learning on the job and extending his software knowledge.

In his spare time, George enjoys playing football, socialising with friends and has a keen interest in cars.

Tom joined the Solutions team in July 2017 after studying Maths, Physics and Business at a local college.

Tom is now an Apprentice Support Technician and will be giving our customers over the phone support for our various products.

Lee joined Solutions in February 2012. He graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with an honours degree in computer science and joined the Sage Reseller/Business Partner community in August 1996.

Lee’s experience in the Sage partner channel is now approaching 20 years and he is an effective practitioner with Line 100, Sage MMS and Sage 200.

Lee also has experience in many of the Sage verticals such as Sage POS and Spindle Professional.

Mark Whitfield

Mark joined Solutions for Accounting in July 2014 as Sage 200 Consultant. He has previously worked in finance for over 20 years progressing from accounts clerk to Finance Director. He has always had a keen interest in the IT side of things and the responsibility of the IT infrastructure in his previous role which involved project managing a large Sage 200 implementation, encouraged the decision to make the move into a full time IT position.

Mark is also Sage CRM accredited and a Project Accounting product specialist.

In his spare time he enjoys playing badminton, fell walking, photography, karate and going to the theatre.

Grant joined Solutions In July 2014 having just completed his A-levels in Chemistry, Physics and Maths. Grant works alongside the Support team, supporting our large base of Sage 50 clients and Act! clients.

In his free time, Grant likes to develop his karate skills and has achieved a black belt (so nobody argues with him!).

Stephen joined Solutions in March 2016 as a CRM Consultant, he specialises in Swiftpage Act! and Sage CRM. Prior to working at Solutions, Stephen worked for a global heating manufacturer implementing CRM projects.

In his spare time Stephen enjoys bouldering (a form of climbing with no ropes apparently) and being a proud father to his son.

Katherine joined Solutions in April 2016 as a Sage consultant. Her role is to train new and existing customers on Sage 200, assisting them to get the best out of their Sage software.

After studying accountancy at University, Katherine worked as a company accountant for numerous years attaining an ACCA qualification.

Katherine was a Sage 200 user for 5 years, and is now enjoying being on the other side of the fence by training other company accountants to use the system.

In her spare time Katherine can be found volunteering at her local Guide unit (girls aged 10-14), which inevitably involves camping, hiking, cooking and other fun activities both locally and nationally

She is also a great lover of travel and learning about other cultures and traditions. She has been known to volunteer abroad immersing herself in new cultures – working with elephants in Thailand and Lions in South Africa. (We are all very jealous)

Gareth joined the solutions team in August 2017 having a BSc in computing and IT and experience in working with companies of all shapes and sizes on all aspects of their IT systems for a local IT company.

Gareth joined our Projects and Implementation team as a Sage consultant. He guides our customers through the installation and training stage with their software.

When Gareth’s baby isn’t keeping him busy he enjoys mountain biking as well as strength and conditioning training.

Nick has been working with Sage since completing his degree in Business Computing in 1998. Realising his knack (and patience) for software development he now has several years of experience with Sage 4GL and Microsoft (Visual Basic & .Net) development.

Nick has continuously worked on creating bespoke systems to integrate with Sage systems such as Line 50, Sage Line 100, MMS, Sage 200 and ACT! with other systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Microsoft Access.

Luke joined Solutions in September 2011 having just completed a degree in computer Science to start his first job as a software developer.

Luke spends most of his time with computers, including building them. He is now part of the Sage 200 development team

Matthew joined Solutions in June 2014 after recently completing his A Levels in Computing and Mathematics at College, Matthew is keen to get into the software development field so the apprentice Developer role is perfect.

Kathy joined the Solutions team towards the end of December 2009 after working for several website design and IT companies over the previous ten years. She has experience in a variety of business sectors including 13 years in branch banking.

Kathy now co-ordinates our Partner Programme working with accountancy practices, IT companies and other Sage suppliers who recommend our services as well as promoting our range of bespoke Sage add-on solutions.

Sentley Joined Solutions for Accounting in August 2011. He’d previously spent several years working on Case Management systems within a legal firm before moving to the hospitality industry where he worked for both local and national companies in management and EPOS setup.

Sentley began his career at Solutions for Accounting supporting Sage 50, Sage 200 as well as Spindle and Credit Hound but has recently moved into an Account Management role.

Nicola Gibson

Nicola joined BluebirdCRM in 2008 and became a member of the Solutions for Accounting family in April 2015.

During the early part of her career, Nicola was recognised as ‘Young Employee of The Year’ at the East Staffordshire Business Awards, and went on to specialise CRM in business development.

Nicola’s extensive knowledge of the Act! suite has helped her introduce customer intelligence solutions to hundreds of SMEs across the UK. She now leads on Act! and SageCRM sales for Solutions for Accounting.

Bethan Wright

Bethan graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA Hons in Media, Communication and Society.

She plays a key role in developing and managing our growing businesses marketing strategy. Prior to joining Solutions for Accounting in May 2016, Bethan was the Communications Coordinator at a Waste Management company based in Nottingham for 4 years.

Her hobbies include cooking, hiking and all things vintage.

Mark joined the Solutions team in July 2017 after previously working for 30+ years as a key account manager for a large national facility service provider. He was also a key player in a large supermarket chain moving from manual tills to electronic systems.

Mark is now a Sage Consultant and helps grow the already expanding client base for Sage 200 that we have here at Solutions.

Outside Solutions, Mark is an avid Star Wars fan and has always had a passion for innovative technology. So much so he has passed it down to his two sons who share his interest in all things digital, his eldest has even ventured into the computing industry himself. When Mark isn’t playing the guitar or revamping his or his sons gaming computers he tries to travel as much as he can to spend time with his family in the sun.
