Here at Solutions, giving back is a big part of our ethos.
We believe it’s important to try and make a difference and that’s why, each year, we hold a vote within our team to decide on a “Charity of the Year”.
We are delighted to announce that throughout 2021 we have raised £1,272 for our chosen charity- The Silver Line.
The Silver Line
The Silver Line operates nationally and is the only confidential, free helpline for older people that is open 24/7365 days of the year. The charity offers immediate friendship and comfort to lonely and isolated elderly callers and provides them with information and support for any problems they may face.
Since launching in November 2015, the team at the Silver Line has helped elderly people work on issues ranging from housing and health, to finding lunch clubs and even financial concerns.
Despite lockdowns and social distancing rules disturbing some of our initial fundraising and volunteering plans, we were still able to raise a considerable amount of donations through 50/50 draws in our monthly meetings, sponsored events and donations. In addition, instead of exchanging Secret Santa gifts, we also chose to donate food to our local food bank.
Over the years, we have supported many charities: The Little Princess Trust, Mind, Nottingham Children’s Hospital and The Alzheimer’s Society.
After an employee vote in our first team meeting of the year, we have decided that the charity we would like to support in 2022 is …. SANDS the leading stillbirth and neonatal death charity in the UK.
Our goal at Solutions
We plan to continue raising both money and awareness for charity in 2022, with many of our team members looking to volunteer their time in addition to fundraising. This year, some of our team members are also planning to get back on the saddle and once again take part in the Great Notts Bike Ride! This will be the 6th year that Solutions have taken part in the bike ride, and we hope to raise more money than ever before for our chosen charity!
