Giving back in 2026: A look at our charity work so far
Giving back has always been an important part of life at Solutions. Whether we’re raising money, taking on challenges or finding new ways to support causes that matter to the team, it’s something we’re proud to get behind together.
2026 has been no different.
Throughout the year, our team has been getting involved in a variety of fundraising activities, all with one goal in mind. Making a positive impact beyond the work we do every day.
So, before the year gets away from us, we thought now would be a good time to look back at what we’ve been up to, celebrate the people who’ve got involved and shine a light on the causes we’ve been proud to support.
Our 2026 Charity of the Year: WetWheels
Each year, our team chooses a Charity of the Year to support, and for 2026 we’re proud to be raising money for WetWheels.
Founded in 2011 by Geoff Holt MBE, WetWheels gives people of all abilities the opportunity to experience being out on the water in a safe, accessible and exciting way.
The charity currently helps around 11,000 people experience the water every year, and it has a goal to increase that number to 15,000 people annually by 2027. Our fundraising throughout 2026 is helping Wetwheels work towards that goal.
It’s a charity that’s all about opening up experiences that might otherwise feel out of reach, and we’re looking forward to supporting them throughout the year.
How our team has been getting involved
The Solutions team has been busy finding all sorts of ways to raise money for WetWheels throughout 2026. From running and stand-up comedy to quizzes, raffles and some slightly more unusual challenges, there’s been plenty going on.
Our fundraising efforts so far include:
- Neil Larsen’s stand-up comedy, performed at our April team meeting and Summer Fete, raising £172
- Ben Haughie taking on the Blaydon Races run, raising £175
- Mark Whitfield's 3D-printed creations, raising £137
- Sentley’s ‘The Loser Wins’ Grand National competition, raising £55
- Archery and welly wanging at our Summer Fete, raising £220
- Jack Deeley’s 2026 World Cup competition, raising £160
- Karen Gibbons’ name-the-dog scratch card game, raising £66
- Karen’s dog bandanas, raising a further £33
- Karen and Milo’s Dog Jog, bringing in an impressive £300
- Team raffles in April and July, raising £414
- Our regular staff quizzes throughout the year, adding £282
Together, those activities have raised £2,014 so far.
Our fundraising has also received an additional £1,500 through Sage Match, helping to bring the overall total to £3,514 for WetWheels.
From people taking on their own challenges to activities that have brought the whole team together, it’s been brilliant to see so many different ideas turn into meaningful support for our 2026 Charity of the Year.
