At Solutions we’ve been looking forward to the festive season and with our Christmas jumpers and secret Santa gifts, we’re all getting into the spirit of things! For most of us it’s a time for joyous celebration with our loved ones, but we’re mindful that Christmas can be a very lonely time of year for some people…
We’re thinking particularly about those who live alone; many of our more senior citizens find it difficult to get out of their homes and may not be blessed with close family around them. For these reasons, we were delighted to be able to help a group of local people create a magical Christmas experience for pensioners in Derby.
Several local businesses had contributed food and gifts, and local residents together with members of the Scout Group gave their time to create a magical occasion which was thoroughly enjoyed by all those able to attend.
Solutions were delighted to provide funding support to the organising team, helping them to create a truly memorable experience and Sally confirmed the event had been a tremendous success.
“Thanks so much to everyone at Solutions for your generous donation. Although the event lasted only an afternoon, the lunch was the highlight of Christmas for so many people, and it created memories and smiles that we hope will see them through the festive season and in to 2024!”
After the party, nothing went to waste. Sally and her team gathered together left over food and delivered it to Derby Street Safe to help feed homeless and vulnerable people within the City.
For unknown reasons, there were plenty of brussels sprouts left over!
