For the last 25 years, our ethos has always been about making life easier for businesses like yours. We have worked hard to remove the burden of manual financial processes, to help businesses make the most of their software and to provide a guiding hand when it’s needed. Along the way we have developed lasting relationships with our clients, suppliers and staff, and the Solutions family has continued to grow, helping us become the business we are today.
A lot has changed over the last 25 years and not just our questionable fashion choices and hairstyles!
The world of technology has evolved into something that would have both amazed and bewildered us back in the 90s. Who would have thought that 25 years later businesses would no longer need floppy discs and DVDs? Those huge computer towers and separate screens are now mobile phones and tiny laptops no bigger than a notepad! As a society, we rely on technology so much more and everything has become digitised, easier to access, and more immediate in our everyday lives. As much as technology has changed our business though, we’re still as committed to our mission now as we were back when Solutions started in 1998.
So what have we been up to for the last 25 years?
25 years of supporting our clients (even in unusual and difficult times)
Over the years, our client base has grown substantially and every one of you is incredibly important to us. We pride ourselves on providing the highest possible quality of service and support to those who have invested in our transformational business management solutions.
This is why we’re so proud to have been recognised for several awards throughout our 25 years of business that recognise outstanding customer service.
These include the Sage Circle of Excellence Award, Sage’s ‘Saas Partner of the Year’, Act! No. 1 UK and International Sales Partner of the year and most recently, the Sage Customer Success Partner of the Year 2022.
Each of these awards reflects the success that may be achieved when our team works closely with your teams to create enduring value.
The last few years have influenced the biggest changes here at Solutions for Accounting and CRM though. It’s no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic was hard on all businesses but especially small businesses and SMEs. That’s why way back in 2020 when it all began, we took the decision to double down on our commitment to supporting clients through further investment in growing and developing our team. Despite the difficulties of lockdowns and adapting to remote working, we are extremely proud of our team who continued to go above and beyond when our clients needed them. We hope that our efforts contributed to helping your business in some way.
25 years of growing our company and team
Solutions for Accounting and CRM began with just one employee, our Managing Director Iain Barker. That one-man enterprise has now evolved into one of the UK’s leading providers of financial management and CRM software solutions, with multiple offices and 53 employees.
We are grateful that we have been able to expand our team so significantly over the years and recruit some of the best experts in the field, which has empowered the drive to fulfil our mission of providing your business with top-quality service. We have always taken great care to ensure that each member of the Solutions team is the right person for your business and ours.
25 years of caring for others and our local community
As a team here at Solutions for Accounting and CRM, giving back is a big part of our ethos. We believe it’s important to try and make a difference and that’s why each year we hold a vote to decide on a “Charity of the Year”. Over the last 25 years, we have raised over £22,000 for numerous charities including Mind, Teenage Cancer Trust, The Silver Line and most recently our Charity of the Year for 2022 – SANDS.
Solutions is also a long-standing sponsor of the Nottingham Panthers and Nottingham Lions ice hockey clubs with 2022 marking our 9th year of being the main sponsor for the Lions. As a local company with strong roots in the community, we are passionate supporters of all our local sports teams so are delighted to be able to extend our support of the Panthers and the Lions together with local football and netball teams year after year.

As you can tell, we’ve had a pretty busy 25 years and as always, we are excited about the future of our company. We love supporting our current clients and can’t wait to build more relationships with new ones as we continue to grow as a company.
When reflecting on Solutions for Accounting and CRM’s lifetime, Managing Director Iain Barker, had this to say:
“Looking back it’s hard to believe that Solutions is now a quarter of a century old. The world was a different place back in 1998 and so was our business. I started this business with just one employee, me, so to evolve into a business with multiple offices employing 50+ staff has been an amazing personal journey. I am so proud of everything we have achieved over the years.
Of course, I couldn’t have done this all on my own, and I wouldn’t have wanted to either! I am so grateful for the fantastic team of loyal and wonderful staff who have helped to build Solutions for Accounting and CRM into the business it is today, and I would like to pay tribute to each and every one of them, old and new, past, present and future.
I would also like to thank all of our loyal clients, customers and partners for being such an important part of our journey and look forward to working with them as we enter the next exciting phase in our story.”
